Shrewsbury Fields Forever - a fan's eye view

First-time festival goer Amelia Dowle, 14, from Emstrey, shares her Shrewsbury Fields Forever diary.

This was my first festival and I'm so glad it was Shrewsbury Fields Forever - it was safe, clean, busy and very high security.

The main arena was surrounded by different stalls, activities, shops and bars.

There was a shisha tent, a stall to buy neon face paint, a fair with loads of different rides and food stalls which sold pizza, chips and burgers. The chips were amazing!

As soon as everyone heard that Tinie Tempah was arriving people started rushing towards the main stage.

At first I was towards the back of the crowd but throughout the night my friends and I slowly made our way to the front and finally when Tinie arrived we were on the front row!

Tinie definitely didn't disappoint, he was phenomenal. The crowd went crazy when he was on stage and performing.

The sound system was incredible so every detail of the songs were amplified.

There was a lot of pushing in the crowd but was all worth it for how close we were to Tinie.

Everyone there was so friendly and being really helpful. The fair was also a great part of the festival.

While waiting for the acts I went on various rides and had so much fun.

The support acts leading up to Tinie were also fabulous, even from the very beginning, there was never a dull or boring moment.

After the show was over my friends and I went to the dance tent, which had such a fantastic atmosphere.

There were bright, flashing lights and at points a smokey effect that all added to the surreal experience.

The music was, again, unbelievable. At the front of the tent, where the DJ was, there was a screen which had a display of bright, hallucinating, alternating lights which were brilliant and lit up the huge tent.

I met loads of new people, which was another great contributing factor towards the night.

All the volunteers were also really friendly and helpful when it came to asking them questions and finding your way around.

The next day was equally as good. Instead of going through the pain of getting to the front of the crowds to reach the stage, I spent my night dancing in the drum and bass tent.

Yet again the music and sound system were phenomenal.

The atmosphere was amazing, everyone was having a great time and I didn't see one person standing still for the whole night.

The main arena still seemed extremely busy and eventful though, the music coming from the stage also sounded extraordinary.

I got to the showground a lot earlier than I did on Friday and spent a few hours listening to the earlier acts that were also really great.

Saturday was a lot busier than Friday as there were more families there which was nice.

The fair was great, I got to go on a lot more rides than I did on Friday as I wasn't concentrating on getting close to the front of the crowds. Both nights were absolutely spectacular and I can't wait till next year.

I'm definitely planning on going next year and can't wait already.

I'd recommend this festival for anyone's first festival or just for the weekend, as the tickets were reasonably priced for the amazing experience.
