Telford & Wrekin Council said the event has helped put the town on the map and the feedback from visitors had been really positive.

The second music festival featured headliners Rick Astley on the first 80s party night and chart stars Lawson and Union J the following night.

The festival at Telford Town Park began on Friday and the council says 3,603 people attended this year's event – 2,177 on the first night and 1,426 on the second, compared with a total of 3,385 in 2013.

The council also said the event attracted many local music fans as well as people from as far afield as Scotland and Cornwall.

Many people have been leaving comments praising the two nights' gigs on social media.

The event, organised by the council with promoter Liz Hobbs Group, also attracted about £89,000 in sponsorship from more than 20 backers, with Telford Shopping Centre as the main sponsor.

Councillor Shaun Davies, cabinet member with responsibility for T-Live, said: "T-Live has been all about putting Telford on the map and promoting our borough as a place where exciting and good things happen.

"The feedback I've had from people who were there is that it did that in spades.

"This year's T-Live has built on the real buzz created here by the opening of the Southwater development, which is attracting thousands of visitors each week.

"Our thanks go to our sponsors who clearly saw a great opportunity in T-Live."
