With a three-hour show, five costume changes and a host of famous faces, Sir Cliff Richard showed he still knows how to move it and groove it – at the grand age of 71.

The Peter Pan of Pop brought his Soulicious tour to Birmingham’s LG Arena for two nights over the weekend and showed today’s X Factor wannabes how to put on a show.

Many fans donned Cliff T-shirts and scarves and brandished handbags adorned with his face.

NHS worker Donna Willis, 49, has already seen Sir Cliff more than 45 times but turned out once more along with her mother Sheila Robinson.

She said: “I’ve been a life-long Cliff fan. I was around five when I first saw him and I’ve loved him ever since, he’s just the best.

When A Man Loves A Woman singer Percy Sledge and Band of Gold songstress Freda Payne were among those to join Sir Cliff on stage, along with Birmingham-born Jaki Graham.

Sir Cliff opened the show with From A Distance as he sported a smart shiny silver suit and went on to romp through hits including Living Doll, Summer Holiday and Devil Woman.

The old favourites had many of the crowd up on their feet dancing, while the odd cheeky bum wiggle in their direction sent them into a frenzy.

He may not be everyone’s cup of tea but his fans still love him and he knows exactly how to work them.
