Titanic visit for Shrewsbury Amateur Operatic Society
Tuesday 4th October 2011, 8:43AM BST.
Members of Shrewsbury Amateur Operatic Society are to prepare for their roles in an upcoming version of Titanic the musical in an unusual way.
They will be heading to a brewery named after the passenger ship, which struck an iceberg on her maiden voyage from Southam- pton to New York City, and sank on April 15, 1912,
The cast are set to perform their version of Titanic the musical at Theatre Severn, in Shrewsbury, next March, but will be heading to the Titanic Brewery in Stoke-on-Trent this month.
Members of the cast will be heading up to north Staffordshire for the visit on October 21, leaving from Belvidere School in Shrewsbury at 6pm.
The Titanic Brewery has operated since 1985, and has recently come up with limited edition bottles to mark the centenary of the launch of the doomed ship, which falls in April next year.
