Aladdin is coming to Shrewsbury’s Theatre Severn
Friday 9th September 2011, 3:19PM BST.
A colourful taste of the Middle East came to the banks of the River Severn in Shrewsbury today as the cast of Aladdin headed out on a boat trip to promote this year’s pantomime.
Actors dressed as characters including Widow Twankey, Princess Jasmine and Aladdin himself were on hand as they helped to promote the forthcoming show.
Motorists and passers-by stopped and stared as the cast, who were dressed in full costume, made their way from Theatre Severn to the Sabrina boat, which is moored at Victoria Quay, and had been specially decorated for the occasion.
The pantomime will run at the riverside theatre in Frankwell between December 1 and January 8 and has been produced and written by Shropshire TV personality Paul Hendy.
