Wrexham AFC’s place in league more secure

The future of Wrexham AFC looked more secure today after fans raised more than £100,000 in less than 24 hours to ensure the football club could keep its place in the Conference.

The mammoth fundraising effort was spearheaded by supporters desperate to keep their club afloat until a deal to take it out of the hands of the current owners can be completed.

League bosses had issued a list of demands to ensure Wrexham could fulfil its commitments this season.

There are still some loose ends to tie up, but the club now appears to be debt-free.
