Podcast takes off across the web

Two friends who produce an internet comedy programme are conquering the world – all from a laptop in a Shrewsbury flat.

Tim Barnes and Simon Berry, both 24, have been recording their podcast “Tim and Simon’s Brain Spill” from Tim’s home and it has now become an international success.

Using only a laptop and a microphone, they have gained a growing number of listeners across the world, including people from Australia, America and Dubai.

In total, the podcast has been downloaded more than 20,000 times, and the recent success has led to it breaking into the top 40 of the iTunes chart for UK comedy podcasts.

Tim and Simon have been close friends since the age of three and are now both studying towards a radio production degree at the same university. They both hold a keen interest in comedy and radio, and have been producing the show for the past nine months.
