The Osmond Brothers are coming to Shropshire as part of their farewell UK tour next year.

The group will be playing at the Theatre Severn in Shrewsbury on March 27 next year as part of their Up Close and Personal tour, which has been billed as their final run of gigs in Britain.

For more than five decades, the band has been entertaining their fans around the world with songs such as Crazy Horses, Love Me For A Reason and Long Haired Lover From Liverpool.

Jimmy Osmond said he was already looking forward to next year’s live dates.

“We truly want this tour to be a great big thank you to all our fans for their love and support through the years,” he said.

“We’ve performed in the UK many times, but this final tour will take us all around the UK and allow us to get up close and personal with our fans – we can’t wait.”

The group has sold more than 100 million records over the years.

In 2003, they received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in recognition of their long-running career.

Sorry ladies. It doesn’t look as if Donny will be with them.

Again the Theatre Severn are keeping their reputation for charging the highest ticket prices for shows held at the venue than almost anywhere else in the country. Hi-De-Hi was cancelled because of the high ticket prices, Jane McDonald cost £30 in Shrewsbury compared to £18 at other theatres and now to see the Osmonds you will have to fork out £35 compared to £27.50 elswhere. With these high ticket prices surely the council do not need to subsidise Theatre Severn with taxpayers money, the theatre can run it themselves.

The Osmonds don’t need to Donny to put on a good show, as they have proved time and time again.

As to Edward’s comment re the cost of tickets. I have booked several venues around the country for this tour, with costs varying between £30 and £45 including booking fees.

As in all theatres, the cost of booking fees plus postage does make relatively cheap tickets into quite expensive ones. However, the biggest rip-off is being charged £1.75 to print off your own tickets (not by Shrewsbury I hasten to add).

For anyone wanting a good night out with good music and great company (us Osmond fans are really friendly) I recommend booking – even if it does cost a little bit more than other venues.
