Wednesday 22nd December 2010, 10:28AM GMT.
The funnyman who brought comedy to the latest series of I’m A Celebrity . . . Get Me Out Of Here! is planning concerts in Telford and Shrewsbury.
Dom Joly, the creator and star of multi-award winning international hit, Trigger Happy TV, will perform at Shrewsbury’s Theatre Severn on June 24 as part of his forthcoming “Welcome To Wherever I Am” tour.
He will return to the region on June 30 to appear at Oakengates Theatre @ The Place.
Today Craig Reeves, spokesman for Theatre Severn, said he was thrilled the comic would appear.
He urged fans to buy their tickets soon, before they sell out, and added: “This promises to be a hilarious evening with one of the UK’s most innovative comedians.”
Since shooting to fame in 2000 with the hidden-camera comedy Trigger Happy TV, for which he was nominated for three British Comedy Awards and won the BBC2 Award for Best Comedy, Joly has made television series for BBC, Five and Sky One.
He has also enjoyed success as an author and as a columnist in The Independent, GQ, The Observer and The London Evening Standard. Most recently, Dom Joly was among the contestants starring in ITV’s I’m A Celebrity . . . Get Me Out Of Here!
Tickets are available from the Theatre Severn box office (01743) 281281 or online at www.theatresevern.co.uk or from the Oakengates Theatre box office on (01952) 382382 or at www.oakengates.ws
