Thursday 18th November 2010, 9:54AM GMT.
Tickets have gone on sale for the 2011 Shrewsbury Folk Festival, with some of the biggest names in the industry lined up to feature.
The event will be held from August 26-29 at the County Showground.
There will be a number of on-site improvements, including better marquees, improved site lighting and extra toilets. Event organisers have also taken onboard comments made in a survey of festival-goers, to make sure they incorporate good ideas for change.
The line-up will feature Bellowhead, Show of Hands, Oysterband, Cara Dillon, Kepa Junkera Band, Chris Wood and Andy Cutting, Martyn Joseph, The Cecil Sharp Project, Breabach, Demon Barber Roadshow, Jim Moray and 17 Hippies.
Other performers include Vulgar Tongue, Spiers and Boden, The Sweetback Sisters, Caroline Herring, Polkaworks, Hekety and Mr Gubbins Bicycle.
Festival co-ordinator Sandra Surtees, who runs the event with her husband Alan, said they were thrilled that so many festival goers had responded to the survey.
“The responses have genuinely changed the festival for 2011 for the better.”
Weekend tickets cost £60 for youths, £98 adults and £284 for families of four. For details visit www.shrewsburyfolkfestival.co.uk
