Shrewsbury’s Hive Music and Media Centre has announced its Summer 2010 programme – packed with activities, workshops, live music and theatre.

For those looking for exciting activities during the summer holiday there is a series of workshops ranging from music skills to fashion design:

Those aged between 13-17 years old and interested in being in a band, singing or learning/practising an instrument are being invited to a two-day Build-A-Band course on August 4 and 5.

On August 11, a recycled percussion workshop will take place for eight to13 year olds. Youngsters will be given the chance to create amazing and diverse percussion instruments and have a jam together.

The Hive will be hosting its own Glee-style “Hive School Musical” workshops for children between eight and 13-years-old on August 18 and 19.

Run by a professional musician and streetdance artist, young people will get the opportunity to write and perform their own songs and create dynamic dance routines, towards a final show on the second day.

Award-winning photographer Ben Osborne will be leading a wildlife photography course over two days on August 25 and 26.

To book tickets for any of the summer activities contact the Hive on (01743) 234970.
