Much Wenlock Festival begins

A Shropshire arts festival starts today with a fair and a tile exhibition.
Crowds are expected to be out and about in Much Wenlock as the three-week festival kicks off between 10am and 5pm in the Church Green.
Visitors will be able to browse craft and food stalls, an art workshop and enjoy street entertainment.
There was also be a karate demonstration, donkey rides and face painting.
Much Wenlock Primary School orchestra and choir is providing the music and teas and refreshments will be available in the town’s church.
The programme includes the new Wenlock Fringe Festival which will fill the town with music, dance and drama.
One of the festival highlights is an open air production of Romeo and Juliet performed by the Shropshire Drama Company on Church Green from June 14 to 19.
An atmospheric concert, Music of the Night, takes place in the special surroundings of Wenlock Priory ruins on June 12.
