Car crash sees gig by singer cancelled
Monday 3rd May 2010, 12:02PM BST.
X Factor star Lloyd Daniels had to postpone a gig in Shropshire at the last minute after the teenager was involved in a car crash.
The young Welsh singer was due to appear at an event at The Venue, near Oswestry, on Saturday night. But the concert had to be called off on Saturday morning after his management contacted organisers with news of the accident in which the singer suffered whiplash.
Ian Williams, chief operating officer at The Venue, said: “Unfortunately, due to Lloyd Daniels being involved in a car accident, the event at The Venue had to be cancelled.
“The management of The Venue apologise for the inconvenience caused by the cancellation of the event, and is currently in discussions with Lloyd’s management company to re-arrange the event. Ticket holders are able to use their ticket for a new date which will be released within the next seven days.”
Details of the accident have not been released but Lloyd revealed he suffered whiplash on Twitter.
Re-assuring worried fans he wrote: “Thanks for the support guys. I don’t know how you found out but I didn’t want to worry you all myself because I knew you’d panic.”
He said he was resting and was sorry he could not make the gig but had suffered whiplash.
Lloyd came fifth in the last X Factor series which was won by Joe McElderry.
