Key stage 3

BBC – KS3 History resources

TES – Resource – Double-sided topic mat: WW2 facts

Double-sided topic mat which is designed as something pupils could refer to for independent work, but could be used for group discussion or display.

A series of photo posters with events from 1948 to the present day, which would make a good display for the classroom.

Timelines.tv is a free-to-use, video-rich history resource, with an easy-to-navigate timeline to scroll through the footage.

Black History Month website

With teacher’s packs, articles and interviews, the Black History Month website is useful to back up your coverage of the event.

Biography – Resource – Black history timeline

Follow the Black history timeline from 1619 when the first Africans as slave labour are introduced in America, up to 2008 when Barack Obama becomes the first African-American president.

The National Archives – Website – World War II

Learn about the Second World War by using animated maps and investigations containing original documents, film, photographs and audio.
