A group which provides social housing in parts of Powys has been named on the Sunday Times Best 100 Companies To Work For list.

The Pennaf Housing Group, the parent company of the Clwyd Alyn housing association which provides properties in Welshpool, has been ranked 44th on the UK-wide list.

The Top 100 list for companies employing between 250 and 5,000 employees was published in yesterday’s Sunday Times. And the St Asaph housing group, is one of only two Welsh companies to make the Times Top 100 list in the category for medium-sized firms.

This year a total of 912 companies took part in the listings and detailed questionnaires were sent in by 275,000 employees across the UK to be ranked in separate categories for small, medium and large companies with a fourth section for charity and public sector employees.

Gill Murgatroyd, director of human resources for Pennaf, said: “It is fantastic that we have made the Top 100 list for the second year running, and this year we’ve gone up from 92 on the list to 44.

“We’re the only company in north Wales to have made the grade in the listing for medium sized firms and we are very proud to be flying the flag for Wales, promoting excellence in workplace engagement.”
