Important meeting tonight over Llanfyllin High School future
Wednesday 4th May 2011, 10:28AM BST.
Parents, students and members of the community are being urged help save their sixth form by attending a crunch meeting tonight.
Campaign organisers hope to pull in as many people as possible to the event at Llanfyllin High School from 6pm.
It is part of Powys County Council’s plans for a shake-up of secondary and sixth form education in Mid Wales.
The school modernisation plans include a proposal for Llanfyllin High School to merge with Caereinion High School with one head teacher and management to create a post-16 education hub.
Diana Dunn, secretary of the Friends of Llanfyllin High School, said: “We want hundreds of people to be at the meeting.
“People have been texted, phoned and e-mailed and there has been a poster campaign.”
