The final 15 Shropshire schools bidding for a share of £20,000 in the Cash 4 Our Schools campaign will be the special guests at AFC Telford United next month when the winners will be announced.

Thousands of pupils from across Shropshire spent six weeks collecting tokens. The schools which collected the most have been named and go forward to the presentation day on October 2. The tokens were manually audited over the summer and those schools still in the running have been invited to the Bucks Head Stadium in Wellington.

The finalists are the schools which collected the highest points value of tokens published in the Shropshire Star over the six-week campaign divided by the total number of pupils.

Each school has been invited to send along up 50 representatives.

They will be part of a presentation before the game, see the top three schools receive their cheques, one of £10,000 and two of £5,000, at half time and watch AFC Telford take on Worcester City for free, courtesy of the club.

Radio presenter Shuttsie will compere the presentations.

The 12 schools not in the top three will be asked to send up to 10 representatives to collect a memento.

In addition the club has asked each school to nominate two children who will take part in a guard of honour as the players run out.

At half-time the two runners-up and the winning school will be announced and asked on to the pitch to receive their cheques.
