Pupils ill after Whitchurch gas fume leak

Two teenagers were overcome by gas fumes during an incident at a Shropshire school.

Gas taps were left on following a science lesson at Sir John Talbot’s School in Whitchurch yesterday, leaving two youngsters feeling unwell.

Headteacher Malcolm Roddy said it was a minor incident and the gas taps had been on for a short period of time.

He said he was happy all the correct health and safety procedures were followed following the incident.
He joked that the two youngsters who reported feeling unwell had maths following the science lesson.

He said: “We did have a small incident yesterday. What happened was a gas tap was left on for about, less than a minute. A couple of lads who decided they didn’t fancy going to maths reported feeling unwell.

“They were taken by the first aid team, dealt with and their parents contacted.

“It was a very small incident, nothing major.

“It was all dealt with as it should have been, all health and safety procedures were followed. I am quite happy the boys were dealt with properly.”

LOL, PMSL, ROFL, LMAO and all those other acronyms.

I think the head teacher is in the wrong profession. “had maths following the science lesson”. Hilarious. What a joker.
