Crime prevention on the farm

Shropshire Rural Hub in conjunction with West Mercia Police is holding a series of Crime Prevention Events starting on Tuesday, April 28 at Chilton Farm, Atcham, Shrewsbury SY5 6QN by kind permission of Richard Adney.

The events will include a walk around the farmyard with a Crime Prevention Officer who will suggest the most appropriate security equipment for the location and the host farmer's needs.

On each evening will be attended by a security who can supply cameras, alarm systems, etc; a machinery dealership capable of fitting vehicle tracking devices; Intelligent Band whose equipment prevents any unauthorised user from starting vehicles which have been fitted with the Intelligent Band system and by SmartWater.

The events will run alongside the 'Stop That Thief' campaign, to assist victims of theft by installing security equipment to try and prevent future losses. These will be installed free of charge for three weeks, after which, the victim has an opportunity to buy the equipment or it can be removed.

  • Thursday May 7 at Henley Farm, Henley, Ludlow, SY8 3ET by kind permission of Nick Hamer. This farm now has security equipment installed following a recent theft.

  • Tuesday May 12 at Brockton Grange, Shifnal, TF11 9LZ by kind permission of James Chatham.

All events open at 6.30pm for a 7pm start
