Young Farmers reach national competition finals

Two Shropshire Young Farmers will be representing their county at the national finals of competitons being held at the YFC national AGM at Torquay in April.

Ed Potter (26) from Frodesley and a Member of Dorrington Young Farmers Club is to represent Shropshire Federation in the final of the senior YFC member of the year competition.

As well as being the current Shropshire YFC vice chairman, Ed owns and runs the very successful Oak Apple Catering business. He has been a member of Young Farmers for 14 years and is particularly interested in public speaking and stock judging and does much to encourage younger members.

Also representing Shropshire will be Georgie Morris (18) from Church Stretton, a member of Craven Arms Young Farmers Club, who has reached the final of the junior member of the year competition. S

he has been a member of YFC since she was 12 and is currently the secretary of Craven Arms YFC. She works for at the Telford office of the Land Registry as well as helping out around the family farm and taking part in YFC competitions.
