Fellowship award for Staffordshire farmer

Staffordshire farmer Roger Mercer has been awarded a Fellowship of Royal Agricultural Societies FRAgS in recognition of his agricultural business and contribution he makes to the agricultural industry.

The award was presented at a reception in the House of Lords by Lord Plumb of Coleshill, Senior Agriculturalist in the House of Lords and former NFU President.  Roger Mercer farms in Burton on Trent as well as in Lincolnshire and has agricultural interests overseas.

The business is involved in arable farming and free range pig and poultry production under the Packington brand.  He’s also a Nuffield Scholar and Vice Chairman of Governors at Harper Adams University College.
