A new bargain store will open its doors in Shrewsbury tomorrow, creating 30 jobs. Poundworld will officially open its doors to the public on Meole Brace Retail Park.

The store, which has taken over the unit which previously housed the Harvey’s furniture firm, will have more than 5,000 products on offer, including household essentials, textiles, toiletries and groceries.

Martyn Birks, marketing director at Poundworld, said: “Shrewsbury is a fantastic town, and so we look forward to opening our first store here.

“Poundworld aims to offer the best possible deals for one low price and so we hope it will prove a big hit with savvy shoppers in the town, who like the rest of the UK are seeking better value and bigger savings to combat the rising cost of everyday living.”
