Telford telecoms firm set to close its doors
Wednesday 17th August 2011, 5:02PM BST.
A Telford telecoms firm which employed 90 people at its peak is facing liquidation.
Premier Telesales, based at Hadley Park, is set to enter liquidation, with debts believed to be topping £200,000.
Debbie Young is network director of Slough-based GK Telecom which had been acting as the company’s distributor.
She said: “All I have heard from Premier is a letter stating they have ceased trading and a suggestion, as we will be the biggest creditor over and above HMRC, if we wish to put them into liquidation, and we don’t.” She said the directors intended to go into voluntary liquidation.
She added: “There was no reason to suspect anything was particularly wrong, and nothing to indicate this was going to happen.”
The firm had 90 members of staff at its peak, but was left with between 20 and 30 people after departures including the laying-off of 30 staff two weeks ago.
Internet forums show a number of people dissatisfied with the service provided by the firm.
Company bosses were unavailable for comment.
