Profits are up at GKN

Improvements in its major markets have helped global engineering group GKN, which has a major production base in Shropshire, enjoy a dramatic improvement in profits.
The group, which has a major plant in Telford as well as its main base in Redditch, said pre-tax profits for 2010 were £363 million, up from £87 million a year earlier on revenues 22 per cent higher at £5.4 billion.
GKN said the outlook was positive with civil aircraft production set to grow in 2011.
