Jobs up for grabs at £5m Newport hotel site
Friday 27th August 2010, 11:29AM BST.
Jobs being created by a £5 million hotel and restaurant development in Shropshire were today up for grabs.
The new Premier Inn and The Three Fish Beefeater Restaurant will open at Mere Park on the edge of Newport on September 20, bosses said today.
Forty jobs are being provided by the whole development and hotel and restaurant company Whitbread PLC is now advertising for chefs, kitchen, bar and waiting staff for the restaurant.
The hotel will have 50 bedrooms.
The site has used sustainable “green” technologies in its construction.
The development will also feature underfloor heating, water saving taps, LED lighting and sustainable timber for the restaurant building.
The general manager Pascal Bamford said: “We are delighted to bring a new Premier Inn to Newport and look forward to welcoming our guests to enjoy either a meal or a night’s stay with us.
“Our hotel is perfectly situated for both leisure and business travellers desiring good value accommodation that doesn’t compromise on quality.
“The new Three Fish restaurant and Premier Inn is creating 40 jobs for local people and we hope to welcome you through the doors of our restaurant in the autumn.”
