Letter: I would like to thank all the Shropshire Star readers for their support during the recent Star Idea competition to find Shropshire’s best business idea.

Having been up against such strong competition I was surprised and honoured to win the overall vote and claim the £4,000 prize supported by the Shropshire Star and the judging panel.

Since the event, presented at the impressive Shropshire Business Awards (the UK’s biggest business event so far this year – including London), I have been working tirelessly to put my idea into practice.

Finally, this week, I was able to launch the business – creating the UK’s first whisky to the home tasting service, making rare whisky available and affordable to everyone in beautiful gift sets.

I am using the Star Idea prize fund very carefully and hope to build up a business that will create local jobs and contribute to the local economy.

I’ve been handed the best possible start and plan to show the support from Shropshire Star readers and local people will be worthwhile not only to myself, but to the wider community.
