Britain’s Got Talent star Cal Halbert helped a new Shropshire  business to make a real impression at its glittering launch night in Shrewsbury.

The mimic, whose comedy routine included Michael McIntyre, Chris Tarrant and Billy Connolly, was one of the star attractions at the launch of executive chauffeuring company White 7.

The event was held in front of an audience of more than 150 business people at the Rybrook BMW dealership on Battlefield Road.

The company has been created by a consortium of local business people, led by Heritage Glass boss and former Shropshire Chamber of Commerce president Anthony Randall.

The new firm offers white BMW 7-Series limousines for business, weddings and special occasions, and has already been booked to transport celebrity chef James Martin, when he appears at Shrewsbury Flower Show next month.

Last night’s launch, compered by Shropshire Star assistant editor Carl Jones, included a catwalk-style display of the company’s services.

An auction and raffle also raised more than £1,000 for the Hope House children’s charity.

Dealer principal of Rybrook BMW, Gareth Thomas, who hosted the event, said: “Despite the economic recession it is good to see Shropshire businesses being so enterprising. We are delighted to be supporting this exciting new venture.”
