Blog: TV ‘surprised to learn history is not just Nazis’

Blog: A TV history channel said today it was surprised to learn that the past is not just about Adolf Hitler and the Nazis.
The channel, which has filled its schedules with endless programmes about the Second World War, said it had not realised that there was more history available.
“We literally had no idea,” said a spokesman for the channel.
“Apparently Britain has got quite a lot of history. I’ve been told there were various kings and queens going back over thousands of years and all sorts of stuff has happened over that time.”
He added: “A lot of other countries have history as well, and some of it goes back, ooh, literally years and stuff.
“And I’m told there was another big war from 1914 to 1918. We might have to look into that as well.”
Tomorrow: TV producer surprised to learn that drama “doesn’t have to be about maverick detectives”.
