Rob Hughes: Five wins on the bounce after our first setback of the season against Solihull Moors, progress in the Trophy, a clean sheet and a hat-trick for the newly signed on contract Adam Proudlock – that was some afternoon in north Yorkshire.

We looked comfortable and in control, despite never really getting out of more than third gear for long periods of the game and Proudlock made Andy Sinton’s team talk much easier, grabbing his first of the game on the stroke of half-time.

Then, just as he was about to be substituted, doubled his tally after fine work down the left from Andy Brown and the man of the moment was then able to complete his hat-trick after Greg Mills had managed to tie the right back up in knots, before cutting in and curling a shot against the post.

It all came after a moment or two of pinball, and Proudlock had the clearest head, to rifle home his and our third.

We created plenty of chances against a poor Harrogate side, hitting the frame of the goal on a couple of occasions, most noticeably a dipping half-volley from 35 yards on the angle from Jon Adams that would have won many a goal of the month accolades had it dropped an inch or two lower.

This was a real team performance where every player played their part in us gaining progress to the next round, things seem to now be bubbling along nicely on all fronts. Long may it continue.

The bench has strength in depth, others are in the squad to back up the players out there on the pitch. Sinton has to be applauded for the work he has done so far, although he will be the first to admit, no trophies are given out in December.

The hard work is only just beginning. Let’s now look to picking up as many points as possible in December, over the festive and new year period – it’s time to really put the cat amongst the pigeons and show what AFC Telford United are really about. Starting with Eastwood Town at home on Saturday.

The future’s bright, the future’s AFC Telford WHITE!
