Two points dropped on Saturday but let’s move ahead and bring on The Bulls, writes Shrewsbury Town blogger James Pugh.

Town suffered late heartache at the weekend as they drew 1-1 with Southend in a game which they should have won.

The result should provide a wake-up call to the players who, not for the first time this season, failed to concentrate until the final whistle and conceded late. Although to be fair on this occasion Southend’s goal was quality.

For me Town are still not performing at their best; I feel once they hit top gear other teams will really struggle to pick up points against us.

The sooner we get Ainsworth back the better because he is bound to be slightly disappointed with his efforts so far this season, although injury hasn’t helped. I also think we are missing some strength in the centre of midfield, which I hope Turner will look to address in January.

Following Saturday’s disappointment, Town will aim to get back to winning ways against rock-bottom Hereford on Tuesday.

On paper it looks an easy three points, but it is a local derby and Hereford are bound to raise their game against us. Also, despite their position they have won three league games on the road.

With Town not playing again until December 4 where they travel to mid-table Accrington, a win against Hereford will mean they can go into their mini-break feeling that bit more confident.
