Edgmond

Distance: Three miles. Start at the north end of Edgmond where Chetwynd Road crosses the B5062 — there is a small parking area to the north of the latter.

Chesterton

Distance: Three-and-a-half miles. With the telephone box in the centre of Chesterton village at your back, go straight ahead at the triangular junction and walk out of the village, with Chesterton Valley Golf Club on your left.

Beckbury

Distance: Three miles. Start at Beckbury church, and walk down hill and around the bend at bottom, passing Seven Stars pub. Continue downhill out of the village.

Abdon

Distance: Four miles. Start at Abdon Church, between Ditton Priors and Tugford. Walk into the churchyard, pass alongside the church and through the small gate in the corner into a large field with many humps and bumps.

Welshpool

Distance: Three miles. Start at the Tourist Information Centre on the main car park in Welshpool. Cross over to the footpath opposite and turn left along what was once the trackbed of the Welshpool and Llanfair Light Railway.

Vale of Llangollen

Distance: Three-and-a-half miles. Start at parking area alongside A539, two miles from the Australia Arms at Trevor. Cross the stile and walk down the towpath, then turn left and walk under road bridge, continuing along canal for about 1 1/2 miles until reaching Llangollen.

Tugford

Distance: Three miles. Start at a parking area just to the south of Broncroft Castle, two miles south-east of Beambridge on the B4368 Walk back in the direction of Broncroft castle for a few yards and cross the stile on your right into a field.

Shawbirch

Distance: Three miles. Start at Shawbirch local centre in north Telford. From the local centre walk out on to Glade Way, turn right past the Woolpack pub and cross over the main road at Dothill roundabout before entering Tee Lake Boulevard.

Romsley

Distance: Three-and-a-half miles. Start by the telephone box just to the south of the crossroads in Romsley village. Walk back to the crossroads and continue ahead along the lane, following Romsley Ridge for about a mile.

Queen’s Head

The parking area for this walk is opposite the Queen’s Head, between the new A5 and its predecessor. Turn left up the hill past the Queen’s Head pub, and then right at the road junction towards Whittington.
