Weston Rhyn

Start at the Plough Inn, near to the level crossing in the village. This easy stroll is another from the series of Wren Heritage Walks which feature the countryside around the village of Weston Rhyn.

Distance: Three-and-a-half miles. Start by the telephone box in Tugford, to the east of Munslow. From the telephone box, walk out of the village towards Bouldon for about three quarters of a mile, until reaching a stile on the left.

Shebdon

Distance: Three-and-a-half miles. Terrain: Easy walking on lanes, tracks and canal towpaths. No stiles. Start near the Wharf Inn at the north end of the village.

Rowley

Distance: Three-and-a-half miles. Start north of Rowley crossroads three miles south-west of Westbury.

Queen’s Head (2)

Distance: Four miles. Terrain: Easy walking on canal towpath, tracks and fieldpaths. Start at the car park of the Queen’s Head, just off the A5 near Oswestry. Turn right out of the car park and right again on to the recently restored section of the Montgomery Canal.

Norton-in-Hales

Distance: Three miles. Start outside the church in the centre of Norton-in-Hales, then walk across the green to the Bradling Stone, before turning right past the Hinds Head and a road on the left, Griffin Close.

Moreton Corbet

Distance: Three-and-a-half miles. Start from Moreton Corbet castle, just off the road from Shawbury to Wem. The original castle keep dates from the twelfth century.

Llantysilio

Start at the parking area on the A542, one-and-a-half miles from Llangollen and near to Valle Crucis Abbey.

Little Wenlock

Distance: Three miles. This walk takes us around an attractive part of Shropshire between the Wrekin and the Severn Gorge. Start at Little Wenlock village hall, then walk down the hill past the bus shelter and village pump to a road junction at the bottom.

Knighton

Distance: Three-and-a-half miles. Starting at the Offa’s Dyke Information Centre in West Street in Knighton, walk down the side of the information centre and follow the Offa’s Dyke Path signposts across the grassy area and down the steps to a path running alongside the River Teme.
