
Here is the long-demolished doctors’ surgery in Stafford Road, Oakengates - the site of a local history exhibition being held tomorrow.

Come in, the water’s lovely. Pupils at Phoenix School, Dawley, used to be able to enjoy a rarity among Shropshire schools - an outdoor swimming pool.

Lovers of old cars will probably have little trouble narrowing down the date of this photo of Wyle Cop, Shrewsbury. It looks to be about the mid-1950s.
Folk in the Little Wenlock area are a bit het up at the moment about proposals for opencast coal mining at nearby New Works. There is quite a history of opencast mining in the area, as this picture shows.
