New plea over cyclist’s death

Police today issued a new appeal for witnesses to a fatal collision on a rural Shropshire road involving an 18-year-old cyclist.

The accident also involved a green Peugeot Partner Combi people carrier, driven by a man with a woman passenger.

The crash happened on Boxing Day along the B4386 between Yockleton and Westbury.

Witnesses should call 0300 333 3000.

    It will only be a matter of time until this occurs again as the B4386 is a very dangerous road. I use this road daily and the amount of what can only be described as ‘nutters’ who drive through Yockleton and Westbury at speed is unbelievable. The B4386 is a very narrow road at some points, add 44 Tonne HGV’s and cyclists and you have a deadly mix. This is a rural route and not a motorway.
