I was lucky enough to have very positive experiences and much of that was as a result of the patience, professionalism and expertise of the staff. The ante-natal care was totally disorganised; the birth and aftercare were a misery. Fortunately my husband was in the room at the time of the birth and able to call for help when the birth was imminent. The post-natal care was almost non-existent. Because I was a nurse, it seemed to be assumed that my questions did not need to be answered. I am pleased to say that two years later, I had a much happier experience in Scotland when my second child was born.
