People are being encouraged to to get involved in the Ludlow community clean up tomorrow.
Shropshire Council, in addition to its regular street cleaning schedule and market town deep cleans, is backing the national Big Tidy Up campaign and will be carrying out a series of community litter picks across the county.
Alongside the Ludlow litter pick, the council’s environmental maintenance services will be carrying out a thorough street sweep as well as removing any flytipping and taking note of any flyposting or graffiti, which will be removed next week.
This litter pick is being organised in conjunction with community groups such as Ludlow Pride of Place.
Councillor David Roberts said: “Our environmental maintenance teams always work to improve Shropshire’s environment through their regular cleaning schedule and we hope that these community litter picks will help make a real difference to the local area.
“We hope people will come along on Saturday and get involved in the litter pick, as the more volunteers that attend the more litter can be collected and the greater the impact will be on the town centre.”
The environmental maintenance teams will be at the Buttercross in Ludlow at 9.30am to meet volunteers and to give a quick health and safety talk.
