Shropshire pop fans were in mourning today for Michael Jackson, who has died of suspected heart failure.

Jackson, who had become as famous for his music as he had for his controversial private life, was due to make a comeback in London next month.

The singer, a father of three, was taken ill at his home in Los Angeles and died at 2.26pm local time.

The star had been in rehearsals for 50 farewell concerts at the 02 Arena.

He hoped the shows would restore his personal reputation and finances, which had suffered following his acquital on child abuse charges in 2005.

  • How will you remember Michael Jackson? Did you have tickets for one of his London concerts, or did you see him perform in Britain on one of his world tours? Tell us what he meant to you in the comment box below, or email us through this link

I will remember Michael Jackson for being a legend and an amazing musician, he was an idol to many, whatever his lifestyle, he was a son, brother and father. Please remember the children he leaves behind.
The 80’s were amazing and MJ was part of that.
Gone too soon…..RIP Wacko Jacko! xx

stop and think about it before posting gushing dramatic drivel, Jackson may have been a so called super star but what has he done in the last 20 years, nothing !! he will be remebered not for his music but for his eccentric and questionable lifestyle. i like most sensible people wont miss him and will remember him for what he was exposed as being

I remember wanting to be able to dance like him as a youngster. I also remember having my first kiss to ‘one day in your life’ I also called my rats ‘Ben’

I think most of us, if not all of us will have a memory of our own life bought on by a song that Jacko did.

As a complete freak, who should have been sectioned years ago. But money talks. Is anyone surprised that he’s dead? He made an incomparable example of how to wreck your own life.

What has he done in the last 20 years kh?

I would suggest, if you can manage to open a browser on a computer and visit the IMDB.com site you will see JUST what he has been doing, as for your comment about what he is supposed to have been “exposed as doing”… utter twaddle!

All charges against him were dropped and psychiatric reports stated that his mental age was approximately 10, how many 10 year old paedophiles do YOU know kh?

compared to presley, and other stars of rock and roll i believe jackson was not of the same calibre, and i fear the circumstances of his death may not turn out to be beyond suspicion.
jackson was a great icon of the 1970’s and 1980’s and his music and dancing skills were masked by his antics off stage and his self ruination of his face.

js ,gemma thanks for suggestions of using a PC and getting a life, I would strongly suggest that you both expand your musical knowledge before getting to upset .there are far better talents than MJ who actually believe it or not ,play there own instruments and wait for it write the songs themselves,.and if you really believe that money paid no part in MJ innocence then you really are deluded fans, go back to watching x faxtor . there more important people in the world than this overated freak show.
