Historian’s look at Darwin’s diaries

darwin2-gallery Shrewsbury historian is hoping to give an insight into the private life of Charles Darwin with a look through the scientist’s letters and diaries later this month.

Andrew Bannerman, who is a member of the Shrewsbury Heritage Celebrations group, will transport his listeners back to the 19th century for a costumed portrayal of the relationship of Darwin and his wife Emma.

Better than a Dog will be presented through the letters and diaries that cover the whole of their relationship from courtship to death.

The event will be held at Shrewsbury Unitarian Church on April 26 starting at 2.30pm.
