I am very sure that this is a young black panther. having small ears, and fangs, and small paws, it was aged about 2-3 years old. having a large interest in wildcats i am very certain that this is a young black panther.

This picture could have been taken anywhere, not to mention there is nothing in the picture to put the size of the cat into perspective.

It looks just like a rather large domestic cat – and the video picture looks very similar to one of my black cats out in the dusk!

Its a normal cat NOT a Panther.

    To clear things up

    1) Panthers/Big cats do not roam the countryside

    2) UFO’s do not exisit

    3) Ghosts are figments of your imagination

Now can we get back to some serious news please

herm….seems strange that the photos have no reference point with which to gauge the actual size of the subject, and size of teeth, rather than 11cm long fur would be useful in identification perhaps.

And what gives you Y Mab Darogan the knowledge to tell everyone big cats do not roam the countryside? Do some research, the goverment admitted years ago that big cats were released into the English countryside by owners when laws were changed and owners had to declare these pets. As for UFO’s thats another story.

I have seen large black cats on three separate occasions in South Telford over a two year period – and they definitely weren’t domestic cats.

My grownup daughter was present on the one occasion, when we saw a large cat (slightly taller than a Labrador, but with a considerably longer body) in the area between Castle Green Cemetery and Coalbrookdale. This was in the early afternoon in September 2007 – visibility was perfect and we watched it for several minutes from a distance of between 40 and 50 yards.

Jo – I would be vey interested to here your source as to the Government admitting big cats were loose in the Uk as I have never heard any Government of the Uk give out such a statement

If you do some research you will find that the keeping of exotic pets was changed in the 1970’s and that in 1976 a licence was needed to keep dangerous, exotic or wild animals, many people then released them into the wild rather than pay for a legal licence. It wasn’t just cats either, snakes, spiders, birds etc, as for cats, ufo’s and ghosts, just because YOU haven’t seen them it doesn’t mean they don’t exist!

Jo – and the vast majority of population have not seen big cats in the wild, ghosts and ufo’s so in this case I will go along with the majority.

I have also not seen the “Real” Father Christmas, Tooth fairy, yeti, vampires, werewolves, and fairies – I take it you believe in those as well?

Well done to you Rob of telford… i agree with your sightings and what you said. i saw a panther once.. walking up the pitmound on woodside. i know more about wild cats than anyone…i have even been interviewed by a reporter for my story and my knowledge of wild cats. yes ghosts excist, i get to see them too, and angels, and some times u.f.o’s too. but as for the big cat… panthers roam round rough park in telford, and the telford town park, and woodside, and many other places.

I done seen a goats once. I took a photo but I left the lens-cap on.
The real mystery is who stole the panthers body. The voice of Liberace who lives in my head told me it was Zombie Greys from Outer Space.

Stories of a BIG cat (albeit dead) measuring all of 11 centimetres !!!. To my calculaation that is approx. 4.5″. Now, IF the implied measurement was 110 cms.(ie. 3′-7″), that would be considered big by any standards.
