Polished, primed and raring to go – this 1934 Lagonda Rapier belongs to amateur classic car restorer Mike Mohr of Claverley, near Bridgnorth.
The magnificent machine is taking pride of place in a car show as part of ‘Scientriffic’, a science and technology day, at the University of Wrexham tomorrow.
The car has a 1500cc twin overhead camshaft engine, unsupercharged with a pre-selector Wilson gearbox and was totally rebuilt and restored in 1999 as a single seater racing car.
Veteran motorsport campaigner Mike is a regular competitor in local sprints and hill climb events including Shelsley Walsh near Worcester and Loton Park, near Shrewsbury.
