Despite missing several regulars, Newtown notched an excellent 2-1 win at Bangor City as they cemented mid-table position.
Having picked up their third away win of the campaign, the Robins have now reached 38 points, having already bettered last season’s 37-point mark.
Nicky Ward gave the Robins a 69th-minute lead and Shane Sutton added a second four minutes later before Chris Seargeant pulled one back to give the Citizens hope.
But the win was tainted as striker Neil Michell was sent off 11 minutes from time, the third red card picked up by the Robins in the last two outings.
There was good news for The New Saints in their quest for European qualification as main challengers, Carmarthen, slipped to a 2-0 loss at lowly Neath.
Aberystwyth and GAP Connah’s Quay drew 1-1.
