Police today released CCTV images of the moment a hooded gunman attempted to hold up a Shrewsbury bookmakers.
Images show the armed robber entering the Corbett Bookmakers in Castle Foregate just before 6pm on Thursday.
The most dramatic picture shows him with his arm extended through the serving hatch, behind which 29-year-old mother-of-two Tanya Trow was working.
Police say he was holding a handgun, but it is not known if it was real or imitation.
Moments later, having seemingly lost his nerve, the man is seen in one of the images about to withdraw his arm before fleeing the premises.
Detective Inspector Gavin Kinrade said today: “We are anxious to identify this man and would ask people to contact Shrewsbury police station on 0300 3333000 immediately if they think they know who he is.”
Two men were arrested by police last week in connection with the incident.
One was released without charge and the other has been freed on bail pending further inquiries.
