Air giant’s county visit

Jolly Green Giant arrives at RAF Cosford in the back of a giant RAF C-17.A Shropshire museum took delivery of a Jolly Green Giant of a Christmas present from across the ocean when one of the world’s largest aircrafts paid a fleeting visit.

A giant RAF C-17 touched down at RAF Cosford yesterday and on board was a Sikorsky MH-53 Pave Low helicopter.

The helicopter – a gift from the Museum of The United States Airforce – is to become the latest exhibit at the museum and will be the only one of its kind in the country.

One would think - looking at this monster, that our Air Force was indeed a Force to be reckoned with having such formidable transports at it’s disposal but I wonder what the true position is. Knowing how our armed forces have been run down both in terms of manpower and material, this is possibly the only one of it’s type in the Air Force. Someone please tell me that I am wrong and that we have at least fifty. Make my day.
