It must have been thirsty work - the gentleman on the loco in a light boiler suit appears to be swigging a mug of beer.

The photo was loaned by Mrs Margaret Taylor, of Dark Lane, Broseley. Her husband Ron’s grandfather is second from right. He was a ganger on the railway tracks at Coalbrookdale.

    I remember the coronation in 1953………in other words H.R.H. was not yet queen and therefore, not a reigning monarch.

    However, nice photo and thanks for sharing it.
