Could you be our Face of the Future?

The Shropshire Star today launches a search for the county’s next “Face of the Future” to front Telford Shopping Centre’s publicity programme in 2009.

For the third year, we have teamed up with the centre to find the region’s own beauty – someone with stunning looks and a personality to match. Last year’s winner, Oswestry’s Cherida Lauriello, described the year as one of the best of her life.

The Shropshire Star will  invite all the finalists to take part in a glamorous evening wear photoshoot, when they will get to model some of the high street’s most fabulous frocks in front of our professional photographer. 

The day will also include a makeover with a leading Shropshire stylist.

The Face of Telford Shopping Centre will walk off with the gorgeous frock she models on the day as part her prize. She will also be the model used for our main fashion feature in the Shropshire Star bridal supplement in January, and will cut the ribbon to officially open the Telford Wedding Exhibition. 

As part of her reigning year she will make public appearances at events at Telford Shopping Centre in 2009 and will write the centre’s fashion blog on its website.

This is potentially the first step on the ladder to a modelling career and an opportunity for our winner to show that she has what it takes to cut it on the catwalk.

Cherida said: “I’m sure whoever takes over will have just as good a time as I have.

“I wish I could do it for another year but it had to come to an end. I don’t know if I will pursue a full-time modelling career, but it I have had a real glimpse of what it would be like.”

Don’t forget to add your name, address and daytime telephone number. Entries must reach us no later than first post on Friday November 28. 

By entering, candidates agree to be available on December 10 and January 5 for photoshoots if selected as a finalist, and to officially open the Telford Wedding Exhibition if they are chosen as the winner. 

Entrants must live in Shropshire or Telford & Wrekin, be aged 16 years or over, and agree to participate in future publicity for both the Shropshire Star and Telford Shopping Centre.

Employees of Shropshire Newspapers, associate companies and their immediate families are not eligible to enter. The editor’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
