Engaged couples who are trying to cut costs on their special day are being offered the chance to enjoy it for £1,000 at a north Shropshire venue.
The Old Rectory Hotel in Wem is offering brides and grooms-to-be A Grand Wedding for A Grand.
For £1,000, loved-up couples can have a room for the marriage ceremony, and a day reception for up to 30 guests, including a three course meal with coffee.
The couple also get the services of a wedding photographer, a master of ceremonies and a wedding cake, as well as a red carpet and flower vases for the tables.
Guests can enjoy a drink after the ceremony, a drink with the meal and one for the toast.
Crunch
The promotion runs throughout next year and is aimed at helping couples to tie the knot, even if they are struggling to survive the credit crunch.
Selina Cuss, general manager at the hotel, said the promotion had only just been launched, but some couples had already expressed an interest in using the package to get married.
She said meant those who want to get married but were strapped for cash would not have to put their special day on hold because of the credit crunch.
“I’ve heard of people that have postponed their weddings, and I had a couple that changed theirs to 2010, so a lot of people are putting their weddings on hold because they are worried about the price. We thought we could still give people the day they deserve and do a nice wedding at a nice venue,” she said.
Couples can increase the number of day reception guests to up to 50 for an extra £30 per head.
Couples who want to party into the night can also have an evening party, for £12 per guest, or a disco for £225.
Staff at the hotel will be at the Darwin Shopping Centre in Shrewsbury on Saturday, from 9.30am until 4.30pm, and on Sunday from 10.30am until 3.30pm, to give information about the offer to couples considering taking up the deal.
They will also be offering wedding cake samples.
