Two properties in Telford were searched by detectives today in the hunt for burglars who ransacked the family home of a dead Telford woman before fleeing with her jewellery.
The searches were made in the Ketley area after detectives executed warrants. Nothing was found at either property.
It came after Gary Hilton returned home to Fifth Avenue in Ketley Bank on Friday to discover his home had been burgled. The jewellery of his late fiancee, Sarah Parker, was taken along with her three daughters’ games consoles and money saved for their Christmas presents.
Detective Constable Matt Gibbons, who is working on the case, said police were following up a number of leads and urged the public to come forward with information.
Items of jewellery stolen include the gold ring engagement ring, with a diamond in the middle and two amethysts to each side of the stone and another two small diamonds, which Mr Hilton gave to Ms Parker before she died in December 2005.
Another ring was white gold with five diamonds. This was in a black box with the receipt inside. A 22-inch men’s chain and a 22-inch gold belted men’s chain were also stolen.
Information to police on 08457 444888.
