Couple create quintessential country pad

When Michael and Pam Carson decided to retire from dairy farming in Anglesey, and move to Shropshire to be nearer to their three daughters, they just had one problem - they couldn’t find the right house.

But, after spending many weekends travelling to the county to view up to 16 at a time whilst staying at bed and breakfasts, they finally found their ideal home, and what a home it is!

Take our photo gallery tour below.

The Lynches at Clungunford

The Lynches at Clungunford, south Shropshire, a timber-framed residence, had caught their eye even before they saw it for real, but there was some confusion as to whether it was for sale or not.

It was on the market with Nock Deighton and then withdrawn from them and then the Carsons saw it on with Grays as well.

Michael said: “I phoned the agents and asked why it had been withdrawn and they said it wasn’t, it was on the market. Pam always likes to say that it was waiting for us.”

And, if it had been waiting for them, then it was a wise choice as, over 13 years, the Carsons have turned what was a nice property into what is now one of the most stunningly beautiful homes to be seen in Shropshire.
