Shropshire and Mid Wales were on flood alert today with barriers being erected in the area, after heavy rain once again caused havoc in the region.
In Shropshire about 1.5ins (33mm) of rain fell on Saturday night and Sunday morning - about half of the county’s average rainfall for October, while up to 4.5ins (90mm) fell over the Welsh hills yesterday.

Seven flood warnings were in place across Shropshire and Mid Wales today, with a further 12 flood watches for the region.
A woman was rescued by firefighters after her car became stuck in water in Troedyrhiw, Tregynon, near Newtown, yesterday.
In Telford, the Wharfage at Ironbridge was closed today as engineers moved in to set up flood defence barriers.
David Morgan, for Telford & Wrekin Council, said: “The Severn is expected to peak on Tuesday morning and could potentially flood the Wharfage.”
In Shrewsbury, Frankwell Car Park was closed as a precautionary measure this morning, while workmen were putting up the second level of the flood barriers.
At Maesbrook, near Oswestry, a man was walked to safety by firefighters after being stranded in flood water today.
Pupils from Maesbrook and Melverley who attend the Corbet School at Baschurch also had to be taken to pick-up points when flood water prevented the school bus travelling its usual route.
Shropshire and Herefordshire golfers’ bid for the Midland League title was postponed, as Shifnal Golf Club course was flooded, and Pontesbury Open Doubles bowls event was also called off.

We can all sleep safely knowing that the council offices in frankwell are full protected… Not! What about us down stream in coleham? One day it will be really bad and we will all suffer including the safe councillors!
