Under 18s will be able to pop into a Shrewsbury village pub two nights a week as part of a bid by the local policing team to improve anti-social behaviour.
The Fox Pub, in Bayston Hill, is launching what is thought to be the first pub youth club in the county, on October 13, during “Not in my Neighbourhood” week.

What a good idea!
I went into the Fox some time back looking for my old friend ‘Mossa’. If they have the room, get table tennis, billiards, and a bagatelle machine. Not modern computer games. Wiggy

brilliant idea, i started drinking bulmers woodpecker cider at 16 in the local tennis club in ludlow, never did me any harm, a bit wobbly on my hercules pedal cycle though. i wish the fox all the best with this venture
What a great idea, in other countries there’s no problem with children going into bars and even having a taste of wine. In this country we make such a big deal out of pubs and drinking, it makes under 18s want to do it recklessly.

i do not advocate it as ido not agree with any legal age of drinking. the french seem perfectly capable of bringing their children up with a bottle of wine with their luncheons and dinners. it probably makes their children respect alcohol even more, and i repeat 1 glass of sweet cider is not binge drinking, i expect harolds horse likes a pint now and again with hay
St John: Devon is advicating drink-cycling, an activity I used to particupate in. You can be prosecuted but it wont effect your driving licence UNLESS there is some sort of motor attached to it like those posh bike that have a battery and a motor to help you.
Please note that a motorised scooter can result in points or a ban for drink driving even though you dont need a driving licence to ride one!
It is an offence to ride/drive a MOTORISED vehicle - thats the key to it all.
